NAN-LA Computer Lab Gets Technology Grant for the Healthy People 2020 Campaign
Los Angeles, CA… The Los Angeles Chapter of the National Action Network (NAN-LA) has received a Technology Grant of NANO Technologies ($1500 value) to enhance the environmental safety features of the NAN-LA Computer Lab in Los Angeles, CA. This Grant is awarded by the Partnership of the MiChi Health EpiCenter and the EnviroHealth Engineering Group, Inc. of Santa Clarita, CA to demonstrate the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Office of the Surgeon General’s, National CALL TO ACTION to Promote Healthy Indoors and the Healthy People 2020 Campaign.
These award winning technologies are evidence base and highly effective for reducing static electromagnetic radiation in computers, cell phones and other electrical devices. They won the INPEX Gold Medal for the United States in a 44 nation competition for Environmental Innovation. They are the featured technology of the ECO 180 Healthy SMART Homes Project demonstrating for the Healthy Homes 2020 Initiative at The Center for Health Equity and Urban Science Education at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City. They are used for computer keyboards in hospitals, workplaces, schools for compliance with the revised OSHA Regulation 1910.333 (a) as well. (Ref: Microsoft Office Keyboard Health Warning Label. The project is directed by Dr. Rhoda Zione Alale, PhD, RN, a Distinguished Environmental Nurse Health Physicist and Scholar in Resident at The Center for Health Equity, Teachers College, Columbia University. She is the INPEX Gold Medalist for the USA for Environmental Innovations.
